About

Seoyeon Ha is a climate and energy justice researcher and activist from South Korea. She is currently based in New York and has research experience across Seoul, Ulaanbaatar, Berlin, and New York.

Her work focuses on energy policy through the lens of human rights and environmental justice, with a particular interest in advancing just energy transition frameworks in coal-dependent economies.

She earned a bachelor's degree in Mongolian Studies from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and is currently pursuing a dual Master of International Affairs at Hertie School and Columbia University.

Previously, she worked as a Research Assistant at Agora Energiewende and volunteered at Mongolian International University through the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). Across these roles, she contributed to climate and energy advocacy by organizing seminars and campaigns, conducting policy research, and delivering presentations.

Beyond research and advocacy, Seoyeon is passionate about storytelling through visual media, particularly film. She explores themes of climate change, the Anthropocene, and ecofeminism through an interdisciplinary lens, using images and narrative as a way to bridge research, art, and public engagement.
